Medication

Any medications, including over-the-counter medication (includes aspirin or cough drops), must be turned in to the School Office with a form signed by parent/guardian and physician - with specific directions from the physician.  All medications need to be in their original packaging to be accepted by the office.

Scoliosis Screening

The State of California mandates scoliosis screening for 7th grade girls and 8th grade boys.

Scoliosis is a lateral or sideways curving of the spine usually developing in pre- and early adolescence.  One in 10 persons will have scoliosis.  Frequent signs are a prominent shoulder blade, uneven hip and shoulder levels, unequal distance between arms and body, and clothes that do not “hang right.”  Most scoliosis cases have no known cause.  However, scoliosis tends to run in families and affects more girls than boys.

The school’s scoliosis screening will takes place DURING THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY/MARCH (as scheduling permits).

If you prefer that your child NOT be checked for scoliosis, please sign the form below and return to the school prior to February 23.  Those students who return this form signed by a parent or guardian will NOT be checked for scoliosis.
